During my recent trip to Hawaii, I packed the floral cut-out dress that I wore on my birthday (psst, it's majorly on sale!). To give this dress a new look, I called upon my chambray shirt, which just might be the hardest working item in my wardrobe. I layered the shirt over my dress and knotted it at the bottom, so the dress could now pass for a skirt. How easy is that? I can't wait to try this with other dresses in my closet, especially the neglected ones. White lacy rehearsal dinner dress that I've only worn once, you're next!
Madewell chambray shirt. RBL dress. Franco Sarto sandals (last seen here). Gorjana anchor bracelet (sold out, but love this one, too).

Let's go shopping...
love those sandals! EVERY summer, I think about getting cute sandals but then summer in SF seems to never actually happen, except for a couple of days here and there. Seems boots are solidly in my future... ! xox
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rebecca! I know, SF weather is so weird! At least it's a good excuse to stock up on cute boots! :) xo
DeleteChambray shirts are one of my favorite trends for this season and I've been stocking up on fun versions for months. :) I can't wait to try layering like you did here - You look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Caity! I'm looking forward to seeing how you wear your chambray, too. One of my favorite combos is with white jeans, like you wore recently! xo
DeleteI just bought the Cloth & Stone Chambray from Anthro last night! Now I can wear it with my dress...never would have thought to do this. Should we pack our matching outfits for Pismo? Too much?
ReplyDeleteI love that one from Anthro! Excellent choice! I think it would be perfectly appropriate if we dressed as twins during the entire trip, since that's what we claimed to be all through high school! :)
DeleteI love making my dresses temporary skirts! You look great and that dress is simply lovely. The shot of you on the hammock is exquisite.

DeleteDouble the wardrobe -- that's a perfect way of putting it! Thanks, Marlen! xo
ReplyDeleteI love this trick and have used it quite a few times, especially with dresses I've already blogged! I think my chambray shirt may be the hardest working item in my closet too...great minds think alike? haha. You look stunning though and I love the photo location!
