Trying the Trend: Boyfriend Jeans

Gap Destructed Sexy Boyfriend Jean

Me: What do you think of my new jeans?
Husband: Are you going to paint something?
Me: Um, yea. Paint the town red in my awesome new jeans.

And that's how I introduced my husband to my boyfriend (jeans). I'll admit that I'd been avoiding boyfriends, but after seeing them on countless celebrities and street style stars, I got curious. If stylish women are willing to put aside their skinnies, these baggier blues must have super powers or at least be super comfortable.
So I tried Gap’s Destructed Sexy Boyfriend Jean. Comfortable, yes, but sexy? See painting question. To avoid the handyman look, I added pumps and a little bit of sparkle but kept things relaxed with a fatigue jacket (last seen here). After taking these jeans for a spin, I must say they're a liberating alternative to second-skin denim. As for any super powers? I discovered at least one during date night: you can go out for Italian and have room for gelato without undoing your top button.

Gap boyfriend jeans. Velvet jacket (also available here). Uniqlo sweater. Sole Society pumps. BaubleBar necklaceMichele watch. David Yurman bracelets. Lip color: Benefit Cha Cha Tint with Benefit Coralista Lip Gloss.

You're so right! I guess I wouldn't be in any pictures on my blog if it weren't for the boy, silly fashion comments and all :)

    1. Thanks, Cara! I'm so glad you approve of the boyfriends (and my husband's sense of humor). I was tempted to go super comfy and just wear flats, but like you said, pumps make them feminine! xo

    1. Thanks, lady! I could totally see them on you, although you probably don't need a tenth pair of nude pumps ;)

  6. I've been on the edge about the boyfriend jean trend, not sure I love it, but when done well (like here!) they look great! We'll see what happens. Adore your shoes :)

    1. Thanks so much, Elizabeth! I know what you mean about being on the edge about boyfriend jeans. It took me forever to finally commit to a pair. Let me know if you try it! I bet you could pull them off perfectly!

I'm so glad you like the shoes, too! I just wore them to a wedding and lasted the whole night without wanting to take them off, which is a testament to their comfort! xo

    1. Hi Randy! They're from Gap! Looks like the exact pair I'm wearing is sold out now, but this pair is super similar: http://bit.ly/15kgdQd
